Victor Frankenstein versus the Monster

FRANKENSTEIN
by MARY SHELLEY

What an amazing book.

I wish I could end there, but i guess I need to defend myself a little.

Frankenstein is one of the most widely talked about books, yet the most under-read. Nobody knows what the hell they are talking about when referring to Frankenstein. If only people knew that when they dress up as Frankenstein for Halloween they should sport a lab coat and not a horrifically green face with bolts through their temples... ah! Popular culture and its misadventures!

Frankenstein is a super creepy and eerie book. It's one of those intense page-turners that sucks its reader right into the narrative world. I can't wait to re-read it.

The first thing the reader must do before picking up Shelley's Frankenstein is suspend disbelief; it's worth it. Once the impossibility of creating and awakening a monster is out of the question, this book is totally realistic and completely percent scary.

When I first read this book, I was taking a 300-level class at McGill. I remember secretly reading this book entirely in one 3-hour lecture. The book brings you into a whole other world: one that you definitely do not want to be a part of, but also one that you never want to leave.

Give this book your dedicated, undivided attention and trust me, you won't be disappointed.
